Mediterranean Diet wins Best Diet again

If you are looking to start your new year with a new diet, why not try Mediterranean diet?

Mediterranean Diet was recently named one of the Best Diet for 2021 for the 4th year in a row by US News and World Report. A panel of nutrition and specialists in diabetes, heart health an weight loss decided unanimously that Mediterranean Diet was their top peak out of 39 eating plans that they went through which included keto Diet, weightwatchers, atkins and others.

Mediterranean Diet was the chosen one because it was easier to follow and packed with nutrition. Its eating pattern has long been linked to longevity.

Mediterranean Diet emphasises on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds and moderate intake of red wine. With this based diet, it evident that people live longer and are not susceptible to any kind of ailment. Another plus point to this diet is that it is easy to follow hence you will not get overwhelmed with the amount of preparation to make this meal.

Restrictive Diets like Keto, modified Keto, whole 30 and Dukan landed at the bottom of the list as nearly being impossible to follow long term and its nutritionally incomplete.

There were few newly included diets to the 2021 list which was the Noom Diet was tagged at 12 spots overall and was applauded for its behaviour change approach to weight loss.

Bottomline is that Mediterranean Diet is not restrictive in term of calories or comes with a rigid diet plan that makes it easier to follow and one of the safest diets in terms of side effects. But its not magic pills for those looking for short term weight loss results.
